What happened to all the muggles? While no one outside of the Dark Lord's inner circle knows the exact story, the muggles are still in the normal world. The Dark Lord succeeded in transporting all of the wizarding beings to an alternate world. Most characters don't know exactly what has happened, and are being kept ignorant intentionally so that they can't find a way to reverse the process. What has happened to the muggleborns? Muggleborns under the age of 17 are either at Hogwarts, or in one of several orphanages. Otherwise, muggleborns are considered owned by the government. They can either be sold or leased to various purebloods to work on the farms, are put on work crews that maintain the magical infrastructure, or are given other unskilled jobs such as hospital orderlies or factory workers. They very rarely work as household staff, as most pureblood families prefer house elves and the family might only have one house slave and one slave to tend to animals. What happened to the slaves' wands? Snapped in half Who are the criminals? How do they survive? Criminals are anyone who is wanted by the government. This can range from unregistered muggleborns to blood traitors to those actively working against the Ministry. They either live a double life, with an assumed identity (for instance, a muggleborn taking the identity of a foreign or dead halfblood) or live on the run, getting by on dumpster diving, shoplifting, and working under the table for those sympathetic to the cause. What has happened to the Order? People convicted of the crime of being a blood traitor may be stripped of all rights as a citizen and subjected to being a slave. Most often, they are stripped of their ability to own a business or work for the government, and must take unskilled jobs. What about the children of the Order members? If the child is pure or a halfblood, he is removed to a proper (Voldemort supporting) family to be raised with proper beliefs. Children with two muggleborn parents are either left with their parents, or placed in orphanages, depending on the circumstances of the family. Who are the ruling class? The ruling class consists of marked Death Eaters and their spouses, children and female relations (mother, sister). Only pureblooded wizards over the age of 17 can take the mark. Some exceptions are made for exceptionally skilled witches and halfbloods. Who are the Free Wizards? Free wizards are pure and halfblooded wizards who are not Death Eaters, but are also not wanted or convicted of crimes against the Dark Lord. Free Wizards are allowed to hold jobs, own businesses (with permission), have a full education, marry, and own property. What happened to the rest of the world? No one knows. Since May of 1998, there has been zero contact with anyone off the British Isle, including Ireland. Who are the regional governors and what are the regions? Healer training consists of three years of classroom and clinical training, followed by two years of healer residency. How long does auror training last? Auror training takes three years per canon. OOC Questions How is the in game date handled? The game date is the same as the current date, only in 2003. For ease of gameplay, the actual day is the same, and full moons will fall on the 2010 dates Can I play a vampire/werewolf/other magical creature? Yes! You are welcome to play a supernatural character if they are either a name only character, or listed as a supernatural character in the books. We reserve the right to limit the number of supernatural characters. Why do slaves have journals? The spell for magical journals is very simple, and almost any book can be erased and turned into a journal. Granted there are pre-made, expensive, leather bound journals owned by the wealthy, but it's not hard to hex a journal, which makes them the bane of the government.
